Here’s my trip to Cape Town, South Africa. This video was initially just meant for my mom & dad, but I figured I’d just post it here in case anyone was interested. It was an epic trip. I went to the top of Table Mountain and hiked around for an entire day and ran into some dassies. Cruised down the Atlantic coast enjoying the waves all the way down to Cape Point and the Cape Of Good Hope, which are the south-western most points on the continent as well as the dividing line between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean. While there I ran into some wild ostriches, which is sentence I thought I would never ever say. Shared Boulders Beach with a colony of African Penguins then cruised around the coast in a helicopter. I went shark cage diving with great white sharks in Shark Alley between Dyer Island and Geyser Island. I also got to seeĀ Cape Town Football Stadium aka Green Point Stadium, where some of the World Cup 2010 matches were held, from my amazing hotel The Cape Royale. I also stayed at a really rad guest house at the foot of Table Mountain called Kensington Place, and finally stayed at a well located but ultimately rather plain Taj Hotel. I also went up to the roof of the Grand Daddy Hotel on a Monday night to watch a free old movie under the stars surrounded by a series of Airstream trailers in the world’s only rooftop trailer park. I had some fantastic meals along the way, but the absolute stand outs were: lunch at Dear Me where I had the most amazing duck croquettes, dinner at HQ where they literally only have one thing on the menu - a Nairobi steak - which is one of the best I’ve ever had, and picking up delicious snacks like fresh made meringues at Melissa’s The Food Shop. I <3 Cape Town!
