YOUTUBE DOODLE
The YouTube Doodle (or Yoodle for short) features a roughly 10-second animation in the YouTube logo space. Clicking it reveals larger artwork and provides more information about a featured community. After establishing the program with Ash Qualischefski, I built the team and led artwork curation with Jesse Lefkowitz.
The program’s core mission is to provide an unexpected, joyful change that celebrates fun, community, and culture on YouTube. We achieve this by highlighting authentic and often under-represented communities, celebrating the platform's creative impact, and recognizing cultural zeitgeist moments. Our goal is to spark user discovery and delight through experiences founded on fairness and inclusivity for diverse perspectives.

Over the project's four years, the team has launched nearly 200 Yoodles globally, each celebrating a unique community and resulting in over 13 billion user interactions to date. We’ve collaborated with over 130 global artists from over 60 countries for communities like: Minecraft, senior creators, Earth Day, Type Beats, Indigenous creators, ASMR, sign language, nail art, Hijabi fashion, natural hair, Telenovelas, Futsal, cats and dogs, and many more.
