YOUTUBE BRAND BOOK

Because the web is ever changing, when my team began redesigning YouTube’s identity, we carefully researched and documented its design history. The result is this 326-page Smyth-sewn book, created in partnership with Hybrid Design, which serves as a historical document capturing YouTube from 2005 to 2021.

This book serves as both a companion piece to our internal brand standards and a source of inspiration and reminder for our team. The first edition consists of 2,000 copies.

It contains the story of the company’s foundation and growth, logo history, design philosophy, iconography, typography, color palettes, imagery (such as illustration, patterns, and photography), and examples of visual design application.

Specs

The book was printed in California on: 80# McCoy Gloss, 80# Keaykolour pastel blue, 80# Mohawk superfine eggshell ultra, and 70# Mohawk via light grey smooth.
